Zur Person

I’m a doctoral student in the Heidelberg Center for Transcultural Studies, engaged in Heimat(en) as part of subproject B02: Searching for Home and Homemaking between Household and Neighborhood in Nepal, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Christiane Brosius. My doctoral project investigates the formation of domestic and urban spaces as practices of homemaking and belonging. The lived experience, social and artistic production of architects in the contemporary Kathmandu Valley is my access point, aiming to understand how domestic and urban places are made and built into “home” transculturally in the world of cities.
I am a trained architect with over 10 years practical experience, which gave way to my current focus as a young scholar: first during my Master of Arts in Cultural Heritage Studies, now supporting coordination tasks in my institute and part of the interdisciplinary team of Heimat(en).
